Le Passé Composé

Bonjour!
As we explore our new social studies unit Canada's heritage and identity, it is important to understand the past tense of verbs. Here's a great chart and link to a site that might help you understand it a bit better :)

Good morning Grade 6 Immersion students and parents,

Saint Cecilia Wymondley.jpg

Amen

Hoping this email finds you all healthy and safe.
As we begin our third week of online learning, I thought I would send out an
overview of how things will look moving forward.
As a guideline, the ministry and board have suggested that students
spend approximately 5 hours per week total for each grade.

That means:
2.5 hours of Math and Science (Note: Science is taught in French)
2.5 hours of literacy (English and French) that includes Social Studies (in French)

An email will be sent every Monday morning with the assigned activities for the week.
These activities can be completed when you feel appropriate and at a time that works
for you and your family. If there is any way that I can help make these activities more
accessible, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.

Please know that, as we enter Phase 2, these activities can be assessed for the final report card.
Starting this Friday, I will be emailing students a list of missing work from the week.
This way we can touch base and see if there are any questions about the assigned work.

I have added several assignments in the student’s subject folders.
To keep track of this work and to help you check in with your child,
below is a list of work to be completed for French Immersion this week.

  1. Le passé composé - review être and avoir au présent & introduction to le passé composé
  2. Le genre des noms (can be in the TRUCS section of this website)

*Please double check that your name is visible on the Padlet.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or require further instructions on any of the assignments.

CBC Kids News is speaking to the prime minister this weekend

It’s not every day that you get to ask the leader of the country a question.
But CBC Kids News is giving you that chance. On Saturday, we’ll be speaking to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the corona virus. And they want YOU to ask him the questions.
He’ll answer them in a video call, which we will then publish right here on Sunday morning at 9 a.m. ET.
We have to send the questions to him in advance, so we need you to send them to us by Friday at 6 p.m. ET (that’s tomorrow!).

Here’s what we need:

  • Your question: It can be a photo, a video or a simple e-mail.
  • Make sure to include the following information: your name, your age, where you’re from.
  • Then ask your question!
  • Email us all the info at cbckidsnews@cbc.ca
We’ll pick 10 submissions and send them off to Justin Trudeau.
Make sure to check back here on Sunday morning for his answers.
